This is the website of 'Convict Connections', a group of members of the Queensland Genealogical Society Inc, who are interested in discovering more about their convict heritage. We have assembled a variety of information gathered by our members and placed it here for your perusal, and hopefully to assist you in your genealogical endeavours. We hope you enjoy your stay and come back to visit us again.

 

About Us

Convict Connections is an Interest Group operating within the Genealogical Society of Queensland Inc. (www.gsq.org.au). The group was formed several years ago to bring together members who are researching their convict and early colonial past. With this common interest we are able to assist one another as we endeavour to discover more about our early Australian ancestry – and beyond. The sharing and exchanging of research information between members has been extremely beneficial. The GSQ resource room is made available to us from 10am to 3pm on the second Sunday of every second month. In return, we raise funds to purchase new records relating to convict research. Such records include books, microfiche, microfilm and CD’s – and are available for the use of all GSQ members.

 

Meetings

All members of the Genealogical Society of Queensland Inc. are free to attend our meetings which are held on the second Sunday of every second month. GSQ Research Centre 38 Fisher St East Brisbane.

Membership

Membership is available free to all financial members of the Genealogical Society of Queensland Inc ., however anyone can subscribe to our newsletters or contact us regarding convict ancestry via this web-site.

 

Newsletter Subscription

Our newsletter is published in February, June and October.

Subscribers need not be members of GSQ.

The annual subscription is $15 (includes postage).

Subscribing to our newsletter allows you to place your convict/s on our database.
